| St Patrick's Cathedral was a result of twenty years spent photographing the great New York City landmark by the author, Leland Cook. The cathedral is the spiritual center of New York's Roman Catholics, and an architectural treasure. The book is both a guide and a history. Showing the grandeur of the Cathedral, and its place in the heart of a great cosmopolitan city were the most critical points in the design of the book. The image at left is a detail of St Patrick from one of the magnificent stained glass windows. This book was given to Pope John Paul II on his visit to New York City, and is part of the Vatican Library (hopefully it wasn't thrown out). |
